The Life Sciences Summit™ is organized by the Center for Biotechnology and Demy-Colton Life Science Advisors.

The Center for Biotechnology, an Empire State Development Division of Science, Technology & Innovation, Designated Center for Advanced Technology in Medical Biotechnology, is a cooperative research and development partnership between universities, private industry and New York State. It is involved in the discovery and early stage development of commercially promising technologies resulting from academic research, and the creation of strategic infrastructure that promotes the growth of the life sciences industry.

The Center for Biotechnology has contributed to the development of more than a dozen approved products including ReoPro, Oracea, Cavistat, V3D Colon Virtual Colonoscopy and Exogen Bone Healing System. It has also helped launch eighteen companies.

Demy–Colton Life Science Advisors founded in 2008, specializes in the development of high-value added conferences that address strategic in the life sciences industry. Since its inception, Demy-Colton conceived Partnering for Cures, now a Milken Institute/FasterCures conference; established the Biotech Showcase®, an investor conference featuring 240 public and private corporate presentations; redefined the Life Sciences Summit™ as an event focused on bringing innovation, capital and industry together along with the Center for Biotechnology; and, developed the US-Japan Health Sciences Dialogue™ into a US based pan-Asian business development conference.
